From 1 October 2023 all owners that let their property, even for a single night, regardless of the platform upon which they advertise, will need to have a full written and recorded Fire Risk Assessment, by law. New Guidance has been published by the Home Office that covers smaller accommodation, (no more than two storey, no more than 4 bedrooms, no more than sleeps 10, and not having an open-plan kitchen).

This is now Statutory and must be followed. The updated guide on larger accommodation and properties that do not fit the Small Accommodation Guide as above, is a work in progress at the Home Office. PASC UK have produced a series of supplementary papers to help owners navigate making their property safe and legal, and writing their Fire Risk Assessments, and will be adding to these during the summer, as well as holding regular webinars on the subject.
