What is the Great British Holiday Campaign?

PASC UK is coordinating the Great British Holiday Campaign in conjunction with the wider self-catering sector. The objective is simple, to persuade the Westminster Government to introduce a robust Statutory Registration Scheme, BEFORE making any of the proposed changes to Planning that are being proposed for our sector. Statutory Registration, if introduced properly, will bring benefits to all, a level playing field for operators, removing the bad actors, and providing both the Government and Councils with the accurate data that is required to make good policy decisions. We have seen the outcomes in both Scotland and Wales of bringing in legislation on the sector before registration provided the data, and the huge damage that does, not only to self-catering, but to the wider visitor economy too.

The key base elements of this campaign involve you. There is a business survey for you to fill in if you are an operator in England. 1735 have done so, making it one the biggest surveys of its kind in England. You can read the results here. https://www.surveymonkey.com/results/SM-BkZLMIdT8Wq08ltQijlmQg_3D_3D/

Secondly, we have created an iParl Petition, that enables you to send a letter to all MP, you simply have to enter your name and address, and press send. You can of course modify the prepared letter. We have managed to get almost 1250 sent so far, and we are getting positive responses from the majority whom support, Registration first. Anyone who is a Constituent can sign the Petition, as well as anyone that like you and PASC UK care about the Micro-Businesses that make up this important part of the wider English visitor economy. So please share
